Rumors of a burglary and murder in Aspirations spreads like wildfire among the nobility and merchant class. A rare and extremely valuable diamond was reportedly stolen from within the main hall of an auction site alongside a well known painting, items that were meant to be stored in front of dozens of guests and guards. No suspects have been named.

More alarmingly, three Helmite Justices securing the perimeter were found murdered shortly after the auction closed, their throats slit and weapons sheathed. A full investigation is underway by both the Legion and Church of Helm.

For once, chaos springs not from the slums, but from Castrum of all places. What appeared to be an explosive device planted within the Atrium of the City drew Legion and Hand attention, long enough for a motley crew of men and women to cut down the corpses of Margaux's supporters and speed them away. The Hands appeared in the district shortly thereafter to investigate the presence of magic, only to discover that the bomb had never been activated.

Centurio Rhimus Ravain issues the following proclamation, as well as increasing patrols in both Cheapside and in Castrum:

Quote:
"It is clear now that Margaux and her forces have not been eliminated as once was mistakenly thought. Let it be known that the Imperial Decree concerning the treatment of any found aiding or abetting Margaux or those in service to her stands. Any attempt to undermine the law of this great City is an act of TREASON and will be subject to the ultimate penalty."
An arrest warrant is later issued for a nameless man with the following description:

Quote:
- Wears an eyepatch.
- Rugged attire.
- Hasn't shaved in a few days.
- Carries twin daggers and a finely crafted bow.
Elsewhere in the City, the name "Tirones Wedge" gains much infamy.

Two Sets of Scales

Rumors spread amongst the nobility - and then soon after the rest of the city - that the charges of slave trafficking and possession against Lord Emil Ashby have been dropped. Ashby is returned to his estate to celebrate his only son's impending marriage to Lady Kylee Zenten, daughter of Lord Miro Zenten.

Elsewhere in the city, preparations begin in earnest for the upcoming wedding ceremony and reception. Food and entertainment are prepared in abundance with joy and revelry, a stark and shocking contrast to the conditions that continue to plague the slums of Cheapside, situated but a few districts away ...

In recent weeks a new drug, so called "Purple Haze", has begun appearing in drug dens and back alleys in-and-around Cheapside. The viscous, purplish-pink liquid produces a number of effects based on method of the delivery, however, the drug is quickly becoming known as a highly addictive and potent psychedelic. A reputation earned as a result of recent incidents within Cheapside, several of which resulting in casualties.

Little else is known about the drug or those responsible for its distribution. For those wandering the streets of Cheapside its impact is noticeable. Men and women rave in the street about the whimsical and vile alike. Whilst still others cower in the dark corners soiled, deathly afraid of the illusory scenes playing out before their eyes.

A woman is seen purchasing an oddly enormous amount of sturdy cloth from Sunny Spindles. Onlookers speculate as to what she could possibly intend to do with such so much fabric. Some say she is a good samaritan, intending to clothe all of Cheapside. Others whisper that perhaps she is the new style designer for Talent & Balance, whose upcoming period piece, Of Gods and Men is sure to require a good deal of costumes.

Still others speculate that the woman is merely a noble gone mad.

Odd and light-hearted rumors begin to spread through Sundren City. By all accounts strange, a baffling trio galloped up to the gatehouse leaving many spectators speechless. A squealing gnome, riding an armored and bearded Dwarf, riding a supernaturally fast horse that turned out to be a shape-shifting druid. Witnesses seem completely dumbfounded. Some even dismissing the whole thing as a shared day-dream... But if nothing else, it spreads some small glimmer of levity to an otherwise dark and cold City...

A recent effort led by Lord Miro Zenten to construct an elaborate statue of himself and his family upon his estate's gardens was met with spectacular failure. Rumors hold Zenten was unwilling to pay the high costs of skilled artisans and craftsmen, choosing instead to leverage and heavily rely upon Cheapside's refugees for the project's construction.

The refugees were paid generously in food and coin and Lord Zenten received many refugee volunteers for the project. Unfortunately for the lord, the refugees simply did not possess the skill and experience needed for the job; the statues rusted due to shoddy work in coating the metals and collapsed upon themselves due to insufficient support built into their foundation.

In their current collapsed position, the statues paint a scandalous image of Zenten sniffing his own son's rear. All in all, the project was an epic failure for the Zenten family and a warning to any and all who are quick to accept the aid of refugees and unskilled peasants.

It's said that Lord Daniel Melcant laughed for a week straight upon hearing the news.

The Right Hands of Mundus - through Legion proxies - issue warrants for the following former Left Hands, now known to be traitors and Black Hand collaborators when the Left Hands' treachery was revealed during the Day of Broken Blades:

There is sparse information offered other than vague images and descriptions, though all come with warnings that the wizards are not to be trifled with and that the Right Hands or the Sundarian City chapter of Helmites should be contacted immediately should they be spotted.

Former Archmagus, Edaphriel

Former Archmagus, The "Sinister Trickster"

Former Archmagus, Aeron Ancrath

Just outside the City, a large contingent of Right Hands can be seen making preparations for what is sure to be a critical operation. Those nearby and learned in the magical arts would discern that a concentrated effort is being made to shore up mental and willful defenses, in addition to the preparation of illusory spells meant to prevent detection through divination.

Sundered Wings

Tarsakh 26 - The Enchantress Edaphriel, The Sinister Trickster, and the Spellbreaker Severax launch an attack on Sundren City. They lured out the Helmites, the Legion, and the Right Hands into traps or diversions before making their move - an assault on the Sundrite Reactors powering the city's flight! Edaphriel dominated the remaining Legionnaires at the Gate while the Sinister Trickster served up distractions for the Reactors' remaining defenses.

Centurio Rhimus Ravain empowers a group of adventurers to act as the Legion's agents in saving the City. They act as quickly as they are able, but are stalled by the dominated soldiers. Eventually, they identify the Enchantress Edaphriel and successfully subdue her.

Meanwhile, with the reactors' defenses occupied, Severax slips into the City to corrupt the reactors. His efforts cause their power to spiral out of control. The City's reactors release entropic energy as a byproduct of their process. In normal amounts, the energy dissipates easily and is not harmful to ambient life. However, Severax successfully twists two of the reactors into spewing forth the chaos beyond control. So long as the City remains floating, the byproduct entropic energy would cause unnatural disasters, spontaneous disruption, and chaos at its apex throughout the floating metropolis.

The adventurers reach Severax too late to stop him from corrupting the reactors, but nevertheless manage to subdue him. What happened next, only a few know the truth; most only know that Andrew Swift and Aeron Ancrath poured their life force into slowly bringing down the City, landing it unevenly where it once resided at the center of the valley. Ancrath gave his life in the process, and Swift nearly did as well.

The Landing is rough and imprecise. The city suffers heavy damage and many casualties as a result; still, in the days that follow the Legion declares that it was always their intent to land the City. They proclaim that the Bloodmaim threat of the Second Sundering has ended and that it was past time for the City to rejoin its people in the valley.

Efforts begin to repair the damage done to the city in its descent. Meanwhile, the adventurers who saved the City from an unspeakable fate are hailed as heroes across the valley:

Quote:
Aeron Ancrath (Deceased)
Aldym Ahvoste
Andrew Swift
Ansellus de Vesci
Chime
Faewen
Higan Kestric
Hogar Skullcracker
Kyle Rendell
Lorenth Green
River Swift
(Sorry there was a lot going on - Let me know if I missed you!)
